Custodian  - Part Time (30 hours/week)
 

The Regional Field House is a recreation facility that provides clean, safe, multi-purpose spaces for a variety of leisure, recreation, programs, events, and sporting activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in and around the Foothills Area. We are searching for another team member who is detail-oriented with solid organizational skills who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks meeting overall requirements.

Primary Accountabilities Include:

This position will be part of the entire team that is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the entire facility. You'll work independently to maintain the building's day-to-day janitorial needs.

 

Specifically:

  • Detailed cleaning of lobby area including windows and furniture

  • Operate floor cleaning machinery (Ex. walk behind and ride on scrubbers.)

  • Clean common areas, washrooms, field/hardcourt and walking track surfaces 

  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers

  • Wash windows and walls

  • Maintain spectator seating areas

  • Clean office and lunchroom areas
     

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Current Standard First Aid - Level C CPR and AED certifications are required or be able to obtain certification

  • CSA approved footwear is required

  • Minimum of 6 months cleaning experience

  • Police Clearance is required

 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Must be able to anticipate the needs of the facility.

  • Must be able to adapt well in a fast paced, challenging environment with multiple and changing priorities.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned daily tasks and priorities.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Someone who takes Initiative and doesn't wait for instructions. They proactively seek out tasks and find solutions.

  • Keen awareness for safety

  • Willing to participate and perform a broad range of duties


Additional Information:

You will require the ability to work a flexible shift schedule. Bi-weekly schedules will be set based on your availability and operational needs.
 

Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to regularly lift (up to 50 pounds), bend, push, pull and kneel to manage the manual labor component of the position.

Facility Operation / Sport Services - Part Time (24 – 40 hrs/week) 

​

The Regional Fieldhouse is a recreation facility that provides clean, safe multi-purpose spaces for a variety of leisure, recreation, programs, events, and sporting activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in and around the Foothills Area. We are searching for another team member who will help us get to the next Level. 

​

Primary Accountabilities Include:

This position is responsible for the setup and take down of equipment required for a variety of functions and events such as business meetings Large Public and Private events, such as birthday Parties and tournaments. This position monitors the use of the rooms and assists in the customers in their requests and helps to manage the incoming and out going of our guests. This position will work with guest services and help meet scheduled events needs.

Specifically:

  • Set-up and take down of tables and chairs, and other preparation for small and large scale events and meetings.

  • Equipment and playing service set up for athletic events.

  • Assist facility in managing the traffic flow of people arriving and departing various events.

  • Provide superior customer service by addressing customer concerns and questions in a professional and safe manner.

  • Monitor facility areas and activities to ensure a safe environment is maintained at the close of events.

  • Provide a wide variety of custodial duties and light maintenance duties as required, ensuring clean, safe and well-maintained facilities for the users.

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 18 years of age

  • Current Standard First Aid - Level C CPR and AED certifications are required or be able to obtain certification

  • CSA approved footwear is required

  • 6 months cleaning experience

  • WHMIS, safe lifting training and time management training would be considered assets

  • Police Clearance required

Summer Day Camp Leader - Seasonal (July/August) (20-40 hrs/week) ​

 

This position reports to the Summer Day Camp Supervisor

 

Specifically:

  • Participate in training session held late June in preparation for summer programs

  • Demonstrate and role model positive behavior when working with other staff, campers and team members

  • Greet parents and children on arrival and departure from day camp.

  • Providing extra assistance as required

  • Plan and implement all aspects of the daily schedule within the provided lesson plan and encourage camper participation

  • Participate in the planning, organizing and implementation of games, sports and activities

 

Requirements:

  • Experience and enjoyment working with children

  • Preferred post secondary training in Education, Recreation or a related field

  • Minimum age is 16 years

  • Experience in a sports or recreation environment an asset

  • Police Check required for those 18+ years

  • First Aid Certification an asset

Additional Information: You will be required the to work a flexible shift schedule (between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm).
